Spaghetti Progress
Spaghetti with red sauce is a simple, easy, and delicious meal that's perfect when you're short on time. Read this article to learn how to prepare this classic Italian dish.
Ingredients

Dried spaghetti

Red sauce (vodka sauce, marinara, etc.)

Grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Butter or olive oil (optional)
Put a pot of cold water on the stove to boil. Wait for the water to come to a hard boil.
Pour some salt (1 tsp per serving) in the boiling water.
You may need to break the spaghetti in half.
Carefully pour/place the spaghetti in the pot without causing any splashing.
Use a fork to stir the spaghetti for a few seconds, then allow the water to return to boil.
Allow to cook for 10-15 minutes. Spaghetti should be completely soft when finished. Test a strand of pasta to make sure it is finished before turning off the stove. If the center is still hard, allow to cook for an additional 5-10 minutes.
Remove pot from heat. Drain the pasta using a colander, then transfer pasta to a plate. Serve immediately.
If spaghetti is dry, drizzle with olive oil or butter.
Pour sauce into a small pan. Place the pan on the stove on high heat, and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer.
Allow to cook for about 20 minutes. Most prepared sauces have already been cooked, and simply need to be heated up on the stove. Stir the sauce occasionally, and test it to make sure it is hot.
Remove from heat. Allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes, and then serve it on top of the pasta.
Serve and enjoy! Add grated parmesan cheese, basil, oregano, or other italian spices for extra flavor.
