From the video I observed students being able to define vocabulary associated with sound showing that they had some prior knowledge on the topic. I also observed students who were actively participating in all aspects of the lesson with very few distractions. When students found another students sound vibration funny they only giggles for a few seconds then continued to listen and participate in the sound lesson. From this observation I can conclude that students knew the teachers classroom expectations and rules.

How has this lesson helped you understand the 4th and/or 5th grade content standards?
This lesson has helped me understand the 4th and 5th grade content standards by showing me how to incorrupt whole group science experiments. I already know the important of students learning and applying science concepts through experiments but sometimes school budgets and materials do not allow this to happen. This whole group sound experiment could easily be done by borrowing the machine that measures sound waves from the Jr high or High school. Learning about sound vibrations and waves did not need to be done just through worksheets.
4. How has your understanding of teaching this subject and/or grade level changed after viewing this video?
From viewing the video lesson on sound I know understand the importance of making sure students take an active role during whole group experiments. I do not want to just be the one completing the experiment in front of my students but will need to incorporate their involvement as the teacher did in the video.
