Similarities Between Socs And Greasers
There can be many struggles with your group of friends and someone else’s group of friends. This is that case in the book,”The Outsiders”. This is constantly shown between two groups of people with different sets of struggles. For the Socs or the, “West side Rich Kids.” And the Greasers or the,”Low Life Hoods”. But they both deal with similar struggles. Some of which are they both have questionable choices in entertainment, they make bad health choices, and they are both aggressive towards each other. The Greasers and Socs both have questionable choices in their entertainment. Such as, the Socs getting drunk at beer blasts and getting drunk at them. This shows that, the Socs’ idea of fun is getting drunk at parties with lots of beer. This also shows that, Socs find it fun to get drunk at important events if there is beer involved. For the Greasers it is a slightly different case, The Greasers find it fun to break the law by stealing things from stores, breaking into stores, and getting drunk at a Bar called, “Buck Merrill’s.” The Greasers go to parties that have alcohol and steal things for fun. The Socs jump Greasers for the fun of it. Both Socs and Greasers have strange was to entertaining themselves.

Socs find it fun to jump the Greasers when they are walking alone on the streets. This states that, the Socs are aggressive towards the Greasers by jumping them for no reason. This also shows that, Socs are heartless beings who feel nothing because they are spoiled and feel they don’t need anything else in their lives. The Greasers on the other hand are only aggressive in the Rumble and when they are trying to protect another member of the gang. This show that, the Greasers have less aggression than the Socs because they don’t jump the Socs for fun like the Socs do to the Greasers.
