Scott Pilgrim
“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” hit theaters in 2010 starting a sub cultural cult. The graphic novel series created by Bryan Lee O’Mally published between 2004 and 2010 created after the film to promote the film keep that phenomenon alive. The first volume to this six part series is “Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life”. It starts out with a dramatic introduction to the main character of the series which is the announcement of his current dating status the fact that he is 23 and dating a high schooler named Knives Chau. Who plays a stalker ex-girlfriend role throughout the rest of the series. Scott Pilgrim is a Canadian resident, residing in Toronto who is jobless and plays in a band called Sex Bob-omb. He possesses the power of love, understanding and in the film self-respect. He character wears a typical shaggy hairstyle and graphic tees with plain jeans. The most popular form of cosplay (costume play originating in Japan) is his signature blue parker with an “X- Men” logo on the selves.
Scott lives with his roommate Wallace Wells in a small one bed apartment. Wallace Wells is a twenty five year old gay male who adds comic effect to fight scenes and random moments through Scott’s life as the series continues. His character whole purpose is to be a supporter and care taker for the main character As soon in chapter one of the first graphic novel “Dating a High Schooler” They display the apartment He and Scott share and it is pointed out that everything in that apartment is owned by Wallace that includes TV, computer, the single bed they share, and even the toothbrush Scott uses was bought by Wallace. Also in the second volume “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” Wallace pressures Scott to break up with Knives who was unhappy with after falling in love with Romano Flowers who he meets in the first volume.
Ramona Flowers is the second main character her power is love. She is Scott’s girlfriend starting in the second volume and the book’s main “goal” she is also
