Red legs run speech
Hello Cincinnati. As you already know, today is a joyous day for friends, family, and the Great American Pastime, Baseball. Today we celebrate the Red legs Run as well as the Red's community fund. For those of you who don't know, the Red's community Fund blends together the team's long history of community involvement with a present-day commitment to at-risk kids throughout Greater Cincinnati. Since its inception in 2001, the Reds Community Fund has used baseball as a medium to reach out to kids. As the nonprofit division of baseball's first professional team, the Community Fund strives to fabricate programs that connects unprivileged children with baseball, while also developing fundraising programs that unites baseball with the community.
Mainly, the Reds community fund mission is dedicated to improving the lives of youth by leveraging the tradition of the Cincinnati Reds and the game of baseball.
It is really a special day to see all these runners participate in this Red legs Run. It shows how strong and supportive the Red Leg community and that there is always opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our youth. I projected that this race would hopefully raise 50,000$dollars. Ladies and Gentlemen. Today we have already raised over $180,000 and that number is continuing to rise. This number is unprecedented and I want to personally thank all of the sponsors and participants for helping us achieve our goal of 50,000. This money will be incorporated into the Red's community fund. This money will fund some of our outreach programs. Outreach programs include the Reds Rookie Success League, a free, coed, character-building program for 6-12 year olds in Greater Cincinnati. It will also fund Youth Baseball and Softball Funding, which underwrites expenses for more than 400 inner-city teams throughout Reds Country. Also, it will aid in Renovations of multiple baseball fields. The funds from this Red Leg Run will help restore over 325 baseball and softball
