We were the champions. Skating as fast as possible, I rushed from the blue line to the net where our goalie was. Our team dog piled on top of one another and screamed with joy. Cheering and crying rang throughout the entire arena. I was elated, tears streamed down my face as I hugged my teammates. After a few seconds, our team recognized that we needed to shake hands with the other team. I understood the defeat and sadness in the opposing teams’ eyes because earlier in the year, I lost to an underdog team in the soccer section final. After the hand shaking, I was a given a medal from my coach. The Detroit Lakes hockey arena is a place that I will never forget. I will always cherish the great memories that were made in this arena. This arena taught me the importance of working hard and pushing oneself to be better everyday. Throughout the entire season, our team pushed each other and made sure that every player was going one hundred percent all of the time. In the end, our everlasting hard work paid off when we won the section final game and made Storm’n Sabres Girls Hockey history. This arena will always be a place of happiness to me and a place of serenity to
