Personal Essay: Team Sports Analysis
I have joined many extracurricular activities in school such as, Cross Country, Track, National Honor Society and UIL math competitions. From all this clubs I have been the leader for Track and Cross Country. I was the captain for track when I was in 10th grade also I have been the leader for cross country since my junior year. While leading this teams there were some obstacles we overcame as a team. We was not fast enough to win anything during my first year of leading the team, we was not as famous as we are now. We did not had many supporters in the arena we compete in also our own school kids did not knew us, all they knew were the football team, basketball and soccer team. We wanted to keep the team fun, enjoyable also competitive. After all of the practice we have done, I told my teammates that this is our year to rise above obscurity. We wanted to make history when we graduate from our school and that’s why we worked hard to win. When I became a junior, I also became the captain for that sport as well, when the season started we won a few meets and then we went to district meets. We won district in an awesome way, all of us were in a row from first until fourth. The whole other teams were shocked however we was not because we believed we could win it. When Track started we won a couple of meets as well, we dominating the sport. It was when we won many meets we were becoming famous in our school and other places as well. All this accomplishments came because I as a leader consider my teammates as my family and kept the sport entertaining. I believed I was leading the team in a right direction because the runners were glad every day, they never complained about practicing every day. I made sure they like the team and my leadership because I want them to step up and talk to me whenever I am making mistakes, I did not want them to fear me. I believe leaders are formed to help others and that’s what I believe I have achieved with my
