Until recently, I considered soccer to be a social event. I didn’t really pay attention to the game or what was happening until it was passed to me or it hit me somewhere. Because of this, I had the habit of getting hit with soccer balls. I’ve not only gained a high pain tolerance, but I’ve learned to use it to my advantage. I’m pretty decent at blocking the ball with my body and preventing the other team from scoring on my goal. I remember there was this one tournament where I was playing midfield for the first time in a few years, and every time there was an airball towards me, I raised my hand, causing my team to get penalized multiple times for a handball. I don’t really know why I did this but it was terrible. It was like my reflexes were mixed up and instead of moving my head towards the ball, I moved my hand, making the game harder, and my teammates mad at me. …show more content…
I started swimming for a APSC in 2003. In the club, each level of lessons were a different sea animal, the first level was the tadpoles. When we learned everything there was to know in the level, we went to the next one. There were the otters, salmon, orcas, trout, and more that have slipped my mind. I stayed in the club until I was twelve, and the coach who taught me at salmon level, was teaching the pre-team group.
