My Great Adventure
“My Great Adventure” I will never forget the first time I went to Six Flags Great Adventure. It was on June 24, 2012. I went with my family, we tried a lot of rides. It was an unforgettable experience for us because we didn’t know about the speed of these extreme rides. They were very interesting but at the same time terrifying. The first ride that we tried was, The Green Lantern. It looked ok, like it was not going to scare us because everybody seemed amused. At that moment we didn’t know anything about it. When we were inside the ride, we were anxious then it started to move. I felt a strange sensation that made me feel panic and my heart began to run fast. I felt like I was going to pass out. What will happen now? I asked myself. When the ride stopped moving, I got out and I still felt like everything was moving around me. I said, “I am not going to try this again”. For a moment I thought my life was going to end because those minutes seemed hours. I thought to myself, “Why doesn’t stop? We felt all sort of things because it was our first time. Finally we began trying more rides and we were less scared. Now we go every year and we spend a wonderful time together. We always bring our food and drinks with us and other people go with us because foods and drinks on the park are very expensive. I hope to go back to Six Flag because it is an interesting park with different rides and it is an excellent place to spend time with the family or friends.

Let inform you a little bit about our trip. When we arrived we received our wrist and everything else. The first ride we went on was the dragon and my stomach dropped on that one but I toughed it out. The second ride we went on was my favorite it was called “The Hurricane”. The Hurricane is a big wooden roller coaster that drops and bumps and swings you all over the cart. It may sound rough but it is super exciting in my opinion. WE went on tons of rides after that but we did some things that are more important.…

Climbing into the lime green car, my fear was over taking me. I was getting ready to ride the Titan, an adrenaline pumping roller coaster ride at Six Flags. It was easily the scariest ride at the park, in my opinion, with its enormous peaks, its deep descents, and double helix like turns was enough to make me sick. The ride began. Ascending up in the car on the canary yellow track, into the humidity filled, bright sky, the people observing from below resembled little army ants . The aerial view of Dallas was breathtaking, as I reached the peak of the ride and looked around. Passengers occupying the cars in front of me started falling off, like a cliff. I let out a high-pitched shrill, as we plummeted toward the Earth below. Traveling…

Once we got to Six flags we already had our season passes so we headed to the main ride that we wanted to go on, “The Superman.” There was no line there so we headed straight to the first cars. I sat next to Jim. Ben was behind me and next to Tim. The first drop was 220 feet straight down. On the left side I was right next to the river, on other side Jim was facing the park. For about ten seconds we were all weightless. At the bottom of the drop we were going 75 miles per hour. It was the best roller coaster I have ever been on. We all decided to go on it two more times in a row before we finally decided to go find another ride.…

Individuals who have this type of fear may also have the fear of heights and how high the drop is on a loop or how fast the coaster goes. They have the feeling as if they are going to fall if up too high or how queasy their stomach may feel with the thought of approaching the big loop. Six years later, but time still hadn’t changed my opinion. I looked at the ride, the unforgiving sun glinting on the cold steel. An icy shiver ran down my spine, my palms getting clammier by the minute. I glanced at my friend, jealous of her indifference. Hanging onto the railing, I silently cursed myself for being so afraid. So weak. This wasn’t about riding a roller coaster that scared me out of my wits anymore; it was about proving that I could conquer my fears. My pride wouldn’t let me have it any other way. From the moment that I agreed to go on the ride, I knew that I would have to follow through with my decision. I couldn’t be that little girl who was too frightened to have fun anymore. I didn’t want to be the one left on the bench while her friends ran off to enjoy themselves. The only way to change that would be to prove everyone wrong. To prove myself…

Another experience I had was when I was 9. I was tall enough to ride almost all the rides at Cedar Point and I was so excited to ride them. We had ridden all the rides we were allowed to ride until we reached the last one. I was so scared to do it because it was so tall. My parents forced me to go on it and I tried everything to convince them that I didn’t want to go. They made me go anyway. We got up and I screamed the whole way down. My fear was very stupid and now I love that roller coaster!…

Everything I seen reminded me of those alligators coming to get me. To be honest I really think that ride should be for adults and adults only. I was so mad at myself for being so terrified but I almost got ate by a fake mechanical alligator so it scared in my head. I had nightmares for about 2 months after that roller coaster. I’ve never rode on a roller coaster since. All my friends still make fun of me to this day but alligators are fierce and frightening I won’t ever forget that roller coaster ride.
