My first focus on the topic climate change is that climate change is considered to be global problem affecting the whole world. It is not one nation private matter nor another nation lonesome burden. To be able to discuss the polarization on the debate on climate change we need to be able to identify the “players” involved. In simplification, science debate with capitalism and social consensus over the real effects of climate change. Capitalism is a worldwide phenomenon affecting nations and civilization as whole. Production of energy, oil and other major industries are cornerstones of modern societies and their interests and concerns are massive. Economical and capital changes…

The sustainability of our environment is crucial in saving the livelihood of the people and the planet. Since we are all interdependent, we will all have to do our part in sustaining our environment for the future. We should always be questioning and doing more about it rather than just talking or ignoring the facts. Most of us do not realize the excessive use of resources we have taken advantage of over the years. Generations past have exploited our planet which has resulted much to the endangered state it is in today. The resources on Earth are finite and they will become extinct whenever the maximum limits are reached. Moreover, not only are we using natural resources to benefit our own needs; after we use them, we often return them back to the earth under worse conditions, in turn progressively threatening the environment.…

Can you answer this question: Is your position most closely aligned with utilitarian ethics, ethical egoism, divine command theory or some other ethical theory? The issue of climate change is omnipresent in our daily lives. Many have different opinions about this matter. Some think that there is nothing to worry about and no drastic change is necessary and others think that people should take action as soon as possible in order to prevent disasters in the near future. This paper will compare the different perspectives on the causes of climate change along with how necessary it is for us to make drastic changes in our lives. However, I will argue that the cause of climate change is anthropogenic and changes must be made in order to avoid chaos in the future. The proactive point of view and the sceptic point of view…

Allowing global warming to continue may well be immoral, in the sense of indecent, especially with regard to future generations. It feels indecent to be leaving our grandchildren a world without polar bears or the Maldive Islands, a world of greater geopolitical instability caused by climate instability. But the issue of climate change is too important to be reduced to a mere question of individually judged decency. Ethical issues, by contrast, have to do with the actions that everyone, or at least most reasonable people, agree to be moral. These agreements usually take the form of principles, such as the famous and widely shared principle of the Golden Rule: Do not do something to someone else that you would not like to have done to you. (Here we might ask: Would we like it if our grandparents had set slow fire to the world, a fire that crested into visibility during our lifetime, and left it to us to deal with the problem? This is what climate change will be like to our descendants.) In the field of sustainable development, the Earth Charter -- a statement of fundamental ethical principles to guide development in a more just, sustainable, and peaceful direction -- has emerged as an essential ethical guide. It may seem odd that this widely endorsed document does not include the phrases "global warming" or…

“What is our personal responsibility toward the natural world? What power do we have to influence events? Of course, the word resource - implies something to be used, yet how far do we go?” These questions are just a few of the questions we were asked to respond to. In the following few paragraphs I will describe in more depth in my opinion what our responsibility is. As well as how much power we have, and how much of our resources we should use.…

In addition, the world would be a better place if each of us has enough knowledge to know what we’re doing toward our living-environment. If we use and control reasonably our natural resources, our surroundings wouldn’t be polluted like that. The blame for increasingly polluted environment today lies entirely in us. We’ve caused everything and been losing our life. Furthermore, the effects of living in polluted environment make us less healthy. People get respiratory and skin disease, especially cancer. We’re facing the consequences of our actions. If we don’t take immediate steps to help reduce global warming, we’ll suffer more serious effects in the future. Don’t wait until it’s too…

Frankly speaking, the amount of petroleum decreases quickly because many people drive their own cars which need gasoline. According to the experts’ indication, people who live on the earth today can use gasoline for only thirty years and will sink into energy crisis in the future.…
