My father
Indicate a person who has had a significant influence on you, and describe that influence.
My Father If living in an ever -changing world has thought me anything, its beauty can be found almost anywhere, at a given time. I find inspiration rather difficult to define, and it’s never been something that I’m considering at ever moment. I’ve always been an observer, someone who mentally records every detail of every moment; the scents, the emotions, and the movement. But if I had to choose an inspiration I would choose Roger Gates, my father. My dad is humorous, quick with a quip or ready to play an innocent joke. He always tries to see the best in everyone and taught me to do the same; anyone who comes in contact with him comes away happier and inspired by him. No matter how busy my father is he will always find the time to listen and be my best friend. He’s taught me to be proud of who i'am and to never look down on anyone. He is the most patient and loving human being. My dad instills the importance of education and motivates me to try my hardest. My father symbolizes more than just someone who brought me into the world; he’s became an extra a voice inside my head. He is much of the motivation for accomplishments in my life. If ever I did poorly, he motivates me and scolds me at the same time. Inspired by my father, I work diligently toward my own goals even when faced with a challenge. During challenging times I recall my father’s stories of his own hardships as he’s worked towards his goal. Encouraged by my dad I try to excel in everything I do.
I remember Christmas time when I was my father princess and we would sit underneath the tree together and he’d smile as I would open my gifts. I knew he was wishing I was a boy in the back of his mind so he could be setting up a basketball hoop, hockey net, or playing trucks with a little boy but instead he much rather enjoyed playing dolls with me. From that point on I knew he was going to be someone I

Social Services worked very hard to find me a home that would help me adjust to a ‘normal’ life as quickly and easily as possible. They found the home my older sister had been placed in, they contacted Ms. Pratt and I was placed in her care.…

Secondly, another reason why I admire my dad is his ability to admit his wrongs very easily and try to get others to balance him out. If my dad is unable to do something, he will let you know then and there, giving you enough time to make arrangements. People always say that it takes a man to admit wrong and since my dad is very good at doing this, I admire and respect him tremendously. Also, since he is very adamant on staying true to these values, he has always tried and instill these values into me, and for that reason I am thankful and appreciative as not everyone gets guidance like this.…

My assignment is to write about someone or something that inspires me. The obvious answer would be a relative such as my mother, father, brother, etc. Yes, my mother is my superwoman and my brother is my hulk, but I want to choose someone that has no blood relation and someone that I know God has placed in my life for a reason. As I sat and pondered on whom that person could be. Only one person came to mind and no matter what I did it stuck in my mind and I can truly say had every reason to. That person was a teacher, a coach, and a mentor to me. Her name is coach miller, or in my words “mama miller”. She treated all her students with a sense of care and showed that she wanted to help. I can honestly say even though I was on her volleyball team for the first two years I thought she did not like me, but as time went on I saw things differently.…
