My Family Vacation
My family vacation On September 18th, 2009 I took my kids on a family vacation to Cherokee, North Carolina to visit Santaland. My mom Reva, who was already in North Carolina met us at the theme park. Would I take the kids on vacation again? We had a terrific family vacation at Santaland. I packed our bags and loaded them in the car. Then, I got the kids ready and loaded them in the car. We set off for the vacation of a lifetime. We traveled on interstate 95 and immediately my young sons began saying “ I have to go to the bathroom!” To which I replied you just went! I looked for the next exit with bathrooms and pulled off the interstate. After the boys used the restrooms, we bought some snacks and returned to the car. Once we got back in the car Chris and Mikey wanted to know if we were there yet? I told them we have a long way to go so sit back and relax. After several hours on the road we stopped and ate at Captain D’s and then it was off again. Not long after we started the boys kept asking “are we there yet?” I said no, not yet. We finally made it to North Carolina. We checked into our cabin and settled in and went to a late dinner. After the boys went to bed I relaxed for awhile on the front porch, while admiring the view of the mountains. The next morning we woke up at 6:00am and headed off to Santaland. When we arrived the boys were amazed at all of the lights and rides. We rode in a paddle boat and feed the bright colorful fish. Then we feed the ducks and the deer. The animal

It was going to be a short ride only about 4 hours altogether through the South Dakota mountains. About an hour into our ride, we reached the mountains and as soon as we did Brody, Eli, Maddy, and I rode our horses to the top of the mountains. When we reached the top of the mountains we got off our horses and looked out over the South Dakota scenery, it was a beautiful view. I have never seen a better view in my life. You could see so far since we were up so high in the air and when we looked down at Tommy and Cassie they looked like ants. After we took a few pictures we headed back down to Tommy and Cassie. We went a little further after we got down from the mountain and then we turned back and headed towards camp. We arrived back at camp we washed, fed, and watered the horses. When we were done with that stuff we made a fire and started carving on sticks for a competition we were having and then at about 11 we went to…

In the past, our family normally makes plans to go on a trip. So this year we decided to travel to Washington D.C. with my grandparents. My parents told us at around Christmas time and said that we were supposed to leave during spring break. I couldn’t wait! We were going all the way down to Washington D.C.! There were a couple of requirements though. For example, we had to keep the whole house spotless without anything on the floors, and we had to stay out of trouble. It was a little struggling for a while, but it was soon over.…

I was sat squished in the back of one of the minivans with Sam, our treats and various forms of entertainment for the long ride sat between us. The drive was long and boring. We slept, played every car ride game possible and watched movies. The 806.2 miles seemed to take everlasting. We stopped for two nights at a hotel and took a day to go to an amusement park. My love for amusement parks was stronger than my urge to return home and after spending the day on roller coaster rides and eating cotton candy, I decided for a brief moment that maybe this trip wouldn't be so bad after…
