ASSURE ELEMENTS 1. Analyze Learners

A. What are learners’ general characteristics?
Demographics
* Name of school : SMP Unggulan Al-Yasini Kraton * Class/ semester : VII / 2 * The number of student : 41 students * Subject : English * Skill : Listening * Level : Intermediate * Age : The age range 13 to 15 years old * Gender : The group is evenly split between the sexes (Men and Women) * Previous college : Elementary School * Socio-economic considerations : Most of the learners are from welfare households * Cultural characteristics : Learners’ characteristics are active, curious, Talkative, less knowledge in listening, lack motivation in English , less knowledge in how introduce theirselves, and self confidence. B. What are the entry competencies?
Incoming knowledge / competencies : 1. Learners understand how to introduce him/herself to other person 2. Learners respond the meaning of transactional and interpersonal conversation to interact with closest environment which engage about how to introduce him/herself to other person 3. Learners are able to listen the pronunciation how to introduce him/herself to other person well

C. What are the learners’ learning styles?
Learners are comfortable with materials, measuring and following multiple step instructions. The learners prefer being assessed on what they can produce and show rather than placing answers on paper. The learners are eager to learn if they are able to get up and move around. The learning styles are audio and visual, and kinesthetic style.

    When one thinks back to their childhood, they may remember the career they wanted to pursue but at the time didn’t know how they would achieve their lifelong goal. As time goes on one will educate themselves, learning the necessary aspects and skills of their soon to be profession. During this time in one’s life they probably never gave much thought to what type of learning style they most familiarized with. What exactly does it mean to learn? By definition, “It is the act or process of gaining knowledge or skill by studying, practicing, being taught, or experiencing something” (Merriam-Webster.com, 2014). In order to evaluate one’s learning style there are assessments that can be taken and several models to compare to for analysis. One assessment in particular is called VARK: a guide to learning styles and it can be used to assess an individual’s learning style. “VARK, which is used for learning information, is a four modality acronym that stands for the Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic” (Fleming, 2014). This paper will review each aspect of the evaluated learning style compared to the preferred learning strategies of such an individual and determine if any changes are needed to make learning accessible and more efficient.…

    Learning styles are techniques to help enhance quality of learning. They are useful in problem solving and communication. They help process the information in different ways. There are multiple styles of learning that vary in numerous ways. Evaluating and exploring your own style will provide useful information to help enhance your quality of learning.     Once an individual completes the questionnaire, either online or via paper format, his learning preferences will be identified as visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic or multimodal. A visual learner prefers using visual resources such as diagrams, pictures, movies and videos. This learner likes to learn by seeing things in action.     2:35 a.m. Even though it was something that I had experienced before, the pain still took me my surprise. And it was only the beginning. I had finally fallen asleep around midnight. My parents had come down to Indiana for a weekend visit and we had stayed up a little late enjoying our visit with each other after the boys had gone to bed.
