There are medical benefits to marijuana, who knows if we kept the use of hemp and marijuana in America we as a society just need to do more research to see exactly what these benefits are. Many want medical marijuana just for the tax revenue but some still see it as a gateway drug and want it kept illegal and many more studies keep popping up with contradictory results. Medical marijuana has many benefits to society just not for the users; medical marijuana through dispensaries can have taxable revenue. But many, as well as the federal government, it is a highly addictive drug but even Jimmy Carter pushed for the decriminalization of marijuana in 1976.
