Letter of Appeal
I am studying to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. I am writing to appeal for my financial aid. I feel a letter was proper because of certain circumstances that occurred during my life that contributed to me withdrawing from Psychology, College prep writing, college prep arithmetic and failing PRN 0374. I began attending Miami Dade College in the fall of August 2006 right after I graduated from high school. I enrolled in several courses which were Psychology, College prep writing and College prep arithmetic. In October 2006 I found out I was pregnant with my daughter Jada. After finding out I was pregnant one month later I began getting really sick with morning sickness. My morning sickness lasted until my fifth month of pregnancy, second trimester. I did my very best in attending classes but it was very hard for me to stay in class and enrolled in school. I would get very nauseous for any little thing rather it is for the scent of someone’s fragrance or the smell of food. I would get really nauseous and have to run out of class to go vomit, with the nausea my mouth would get filled up with saliva, because of that I would have to carry around a close sealed cup just so I can empty my mouth from all the saliva.
Due to my morning sickness I had a hard time participating in class. It was hard for me to continue coming to class so I decided to withdraw from my classes. This is not a decision I wanted to make but I could not find any other way to deal with my morning sickness and being that it was my first time being pregnant I did not know how to handle the situation. Today my daughter is four years old and I am trying my very best to give her a good future by finishing what I’ve started which is going back to school to become a nurse. It would really mean so much to me if you can reinstate my financial aid. Being a single mother it is really hard to do anything in this world without a college degree or a good occupation. Working as a front desk agent overnight,
