Every single word can be categorized into one of eight word groups, or parts of speech.
All eight are listed below, along with a very short definition of each.
Click on each of them to get a more in-depth explanation of what each one does.

1. Nouns
Words that name people, places, things, or ideas
There are many different types of nouns for you to learn about. A few of them include: proper nouns, common nouns, collective nouns, compound nouns, and many more!

Nouns are words that name people, places, things, or ideas.
Before you look at the list of nouns, it is important to note that nouns will fit into more than one category.
For example, the word train is a common, concrete, countable, singular noun.
