Ilumnage At Home Hair Removal
At-home hair removal is a less expensive way to reduce the growth of embarrassing hair all over the body. You won't have to make appointments twice a month to have hair removed, and there's no loss of modesty when you remove the hair yourself. Hair can be removed in the comfort and privacy of your own home. While I wouldn't want to attend a hair removal party, there are plenty of women who invite their friends over, have a few drinks, and get blasted with the laser. It probably dulls the pain! Make no mistake, hair removal hurts.

iluminage Instructions
The treatment area needs to be prepared before the device is used. This preparation will differ depending on the color of the hair and area to be treated.

Dark Hair or Skin
You'll need to shave the area to be treated with the device to remove the visible hairs. The IPL and RF needs to penetrate into the follicle to destroy the hair bulb as well as the follicle root itself. Before every treatment, the area needs to be shaved.

Light Hair
For light hair, you need to remove the hair completely from the follicle. This can be done with waxing or epilating. The heat has to be able to penetrate deep into the follicle bed, which can't be done with light hair in the way of the IPL and RF

You may have a numbing gel applied to your skin before the treatment begins. The gel isn't always used, but if you have a low pain tolerance, it might be an option for you. It takes several minutes for the anesthetic to take effect. Your skin won't be completely numb, but the gel makes you feel more comfortable during the procedure. Other options for numbing include using ice or a special device on the laser wand that emits a blast of cold air right before the laser zaps your skin.…

    Never Wax Your Hoo-Ha

    • 1057 Words

All hair removal methods have tricked women with their promises of easy, painless removal - The Epilady, scissors, razors, Nair and now...the wax. Read on...........
My night began as any other normal weeknight. Fix dinner, watch the grand kids come and go.

I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind for the next few hours: 'Maybe I should get the waxing kit from the medicine cabinet.

So I headed to the site of my demise: the bathroom.

It was one of those 'cold wax' kits. No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off. No muss, no fuss. How hard can it be?

I mean, I'm not a genius, but I am mechanically inclined enough to figure this out. (YA THINK!?!)
So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each other stuck together.

Instead of rubbing them together, my genius kicks in so I get out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees. ('Cold wax,' yeah...right!)

I lay the strip across my thigh. Hold the skin around it tight and pull.

It works!

OK, so it wasn't the best feeling, but it wasn't too bad. I can do this! Hair removal no longer eludes me!

I am She-rah, fighter of all wayward body hair and maker of smooth skin extraordinaire.

With my next wax strip I move north. After checking on the family, I sneak back into the bathroom for the ultimate hair fighting championship.

I drop my granny panties and place one foot on the toilet..

Using the same procedure, I apply the wax strip across the right side of my bikini line, covering the right half of my hoo-ha and stretching down to the inside of my butt cheek (it was a long strip).

I inhale deeply and brace myself.... RRRRIIIPPP!!!!

I'm blind!!! Blinded from pain!!!!..... OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!
Vision returning, I notice that I've only managed to pull off half the strip.

CRAP!

Another deep breath and RIPP! Everything is spinning and…

The procedure is carried out by a medically untrained women, in a majority of cases, and no anaesthetics are used (NHS 2014). The utensils customary to the procedures are sharp objects such as razor blades, knives and sometimes even glass shards (NHS 2014). Currently there are known to be four different types of procedures, clidorectomy, excision, infibulation and genital trauma (Pauls 2015). A clidorectomy is the process of removing all or a portion of the clitoris (Crockett 2015, NHS 2014, Pauls 2015). An excision is the same as a clidorectomy but the labia minora is also removed (Crockett 2015, NHS 2014, Pauls 2015). An infibulation surgery consists of the removal of all external parts of the genitalia in order to sew up the area and create a smaller opening in the vagina (Crockett 2015, NHS 2014, Pauls 2015). Type four is considered not as extreme as the others and can be any nicking, scraping or burning of the genital area (Crockett 2015, NHS 2014, Pauls…
