Rosewood Hotels and Resorts (Rosewood) is an organization that owns and manages a number of boutique and high end properties. However, each location is not tied to the Rosewood name in any way and is currently perceived and marketed as not being part of a “chain” but closely tied with its locale. Now, senior management is considering a new branding strategy that would link all current and future properties to the Rosewood name for brand recognition. The intent is to increase the number of times a guest returns as well as the number of properties that guests visit. Market research that has been conducted shows that if a new corporate branding were to be used, guest’s average number of visits per year would increase from 1.2 to 1.3 and the guest retention rate would increase to 21.67% from the current 16.67%. Additionally, 10% of guests may also stay at other locations which is a 100% increase from the current 5%. As there are risks associated with the proposed new branding, the organization must now determine if the increase in profit will outweigh these risks.…

The methods and legal limitations vary by the agency toward completing these goals. Public police attain more authority toward making arrests and detaining possible suspects, but they are under control by the government and the laws. The guards are powerless in certain situations without requesting the public police at the scene to assist with arrests, questioning, and detaining an individual, but the government and the laws do not limit private security as much as public police. The differences make the agencies useful and essential for most situations. The public police can concentrate on other aspects of public protection without spreading the agency thin to protect retail properties, private communities, and public special events because of the use of private security. The two agencies complement each other and possess frustrations. Individuals in both agencies work well, and the agencies can complete a wider range of goals when working together. Both agencies possess a love and hate…

The major issues present in the “bagel hockey” conundrum are that the employees are unhappy and lack enthusiasm for their job, a few “games” have been created by the same unenthusiastic employees which have led to a decrease in the quality of customer service as well as an appreciable loss of food, the supervisors in this situation are not doing their jobs, and finally the manager of the cafeteria has created too much of a lax atmosphere that was conducive to these behaviors. The majority of these problems stem from the lack of employee enthusiasm for their job, so it is important that the issue of low employee morale be dealt with first and given the most attention from the manager. In order to combat the morale issue employees should be rewarded for good work (through a program like employee of the month) their accomplishments recognized and praised through the use of a comment card box, and finally employees need to be posed the question “what would make coming to work more enjoyable for you?” The second issue can be solved by using these same tactics as it can trace its origin back to the first issue. The third issue needs to be combatted through a training session for the supervisors where they are reminded of their job descriptions. Finally the fourth issue can be solved through the presence of Mrs.Laraby being felt more around the Cafeteria, especially on weekends.…
