Horror Movies: A Comparison Of Comedy And Horror Films
Horror is a film genre intended to receive a negative emotional response from the audience. Comedy, on the other hand is intended to make the audience laugh. Horror films and comedy films, both attract sizable audiences every year; beside the simple fact that horror films were produced to scare people, and comedy films were produced to make people laugh, both genres share plenty of differences, but also some similarities. Horror films are those known to create fear by depicting gore, ghosts, killers, and/or killings. Examples of horror movies include the Saw, Insidious, and Halloween movies. Horror movies tend to center on an evil force, person, or event that is supposed to resemble something of the audience’s worst fears and/or nightmares. Ghosts and zombies have become more popular

Background music is correlated in both comedy and horror films, and both genres appoint background music to assist the audience in connecting with the characters’ feelings and surroundings. Also, both genres appoint experienced actors for certain roles in the movies, though the actors customarily are more experienced in comedy or horror depending on which movie they are auditioning for. Plenty of movie genres, especially horror and comedy, place in stereotypical characters to help the audience understand and connect with the film. These characters may consist of the regular, handsome hero along with the ordinary, pretty, popular girl. Other characters are enmeshed, but these two are the most probable to appear. Finally, the most colossal similarity between the two genres of films is the emotion of anxiety that is coordinated. Though it may be two different types of anxiety, both forms of anxiety have to do with not knowing what to expect, or what will happen next. Not knowing what will happen next causes a small adrenaline rush which also causes us to be a little fretful in finding out what comes
