In this Assignment you will need to complete an analysis chart for ten (10) medical terms. Please be sure to complete the information for all 14 spaces. If there is not an applicable answer please indicate this by entering “n/a” in the space. At the end of the project be sure to list all applicable references and cite them in APA format.…

The Red Supergiant is a huge star and also is bright red.But that is not all to the red supergiant. The red supergiant star is red because of the temperature of the star. The hotter the star it is blue but when it is medium temperature it takes a red color. The shells on the red supergiant can expand when going through fusion.…
In the Doppler shift ranking task, astronomers measure the spectrum of electromagnetic radiation of visible and radio from celestial bodies to determine many attributes of the stars and planets. Some of the attributes that can be observed from measuring the spectrum of electromagnetic radiation are Luminosity distance and Doppler shift. “The equipment work by measuring the wavelength of absorption lines, where the larger absorption line means a longer wavelength and the celestial object is moving away from the observer which is also called a red-shift.”(Measuring Stellar Sizes, CSIRO Australia Telescope National Facility;) While smaller absolution lines means the object is moving closer to the observer which is also called a blue-shift. There are however limitations to the effectiveness of measuring the Doppler shift, such as the earth’s atmosphere which is opaque to certain types of electromagnetic radiation, such that they do not reach the earth.…

She attended Wellesley College to study physics and astronomy; she graduated in 1884. Ten years after graduating, she returned to Wellesley to pursue advanced astronomy studies. Following that, she wanted to study under Edward C Pickering at Radcliffe. Pickering was the director of the Harvard College Observatory, whom she became an assistant to in 1896. The women who worked for Pickering were known as “calculators” or “Pickering’s Women” who did calculations and worked for 50 cents an hour to catalog stars. During her time as one of “Pickering’s Women,” she became known as the “census taker of the stars” and helped to create the system we use today to classify stars. Stars are classified by temperature, therefore by color as discovered by her co-worker, Henrietta Swan Leavitt, into groups named O (50,000-100,000 degrees Fahrenheit), B (17,500-50,000), A (13,000-17,500), F (10,500-13,000), G (8,500-10,500), K (6,000-8,500) and M (3,000-6,000).…
Black body radiation is emitted as a broad spectrum, where the shape of the curve is modeled based off Planck’s law of black body radiation. Stefan’s Law shows the relationship between the absolute temperature (T) and the radiancy (RT¬) with the Stefan-Boltzmann constant being σ = 5.67 × 10−8 Wm−2K−4…

During the fences harkness last week i learned many interesting things, not only about the book but also about my classmates and how they see the world. While some of my classmates would see a quote or theme of the book in a hopeful or positive way, others would see the same thing in a more pessimistic or negative light. A good example of this is when they discussed whether or not Troy was a tragic hero. While some of my classmates thought that he fit the definition of a tragic hero well, others disagreed, saying not only did Troy not meet the classical definition of the tragic hero but he also did not meet the modern definition. Although they decided that Troy was not a tragic hero i cannot say i agree with them. Not only do i think Troy meets…
While the Hertzsprung-Russel diagram was created over 100 years ago, in 1911 by Ejnar Hertzsprung to be exact, it is still a valid tool for studying stars. Although scientists have more advanced technology, which allows them to see further into the universe and provides the ability to research celestial objects in-depth, the H-R diagram is a basic measurement that is still helpful. The H-R diagram gives astronomers a way to classify stars. These classifications have been used for some time and will most likely continue to be because they are well-known and understood. Using the H-R diagram is something that middle-schoolers learn to do in their science classes. It is as if the H-R diagram set the standard for classifying stars. This instrument…
The first astronomical object I observed was two very bright, small, and circular dots which I later learned were a popular binary star named Algeria. At first, I could barely see the stars but after focusing my eye in the telescope I noticed that one star was a light blue shade and the other star was a vibrant yellow color. Additionally, the yellow star was significantly brighter, more visible, and larger than the tiny, dull blue star. When I typically look up in the sky, I notice how most stars have a similar shape and size with the same white color and vibrancy as they twinkle against the background of the night sky. As a result, I was surprised by the distinct colors of the stars which might have been because I have never observed a star through a telescope before.…
