Going To Run Night
Everyday people are stuck facing new things, whether it’s asked of them or forced upon. Throughout someone’s early life, he or she is surrounded by the people closest to them: parents, friends, co-workers, that they are taught or influenced by every day. After one makes a decision there is always either a good or a bad outcome. After one makes a choice it is most likely followed by another. Not everybody has control over the reaction after their choices are made. Sometimes you don’t always get to see the outcome of doing something good, or you might not like the reaction you get of making a bad choice. Either way it’s up to the person to make the decision. Let it be good or bad, determine their outcome in the end, and how they handle the situation. Everyone goes through moments in their life when things that are real seem to escape into an unreal reality. We may look at things that were once common to us, and then open our minds to find a new perspective.

It influences the good or bad habits we develop after we make a right or wrong choice. In “Going to Run All Night” Nilson, as a former runner, had to get used to the fact of running long distances. He had to physically and mentally prepare his body to be able to move like that. He had to teach himself to keep his body moving for a long period of time without stopping; to be able to withhold a certain amount of water over a long period of time. He had to pressure himself in making those kinds of habits. When a person is under pressure they are driven to do many things. They have the power of doing whatever they set their minds to. In “The Pearl” Kino, after finding the pearl, is pressured, not only by himself to provide for his family but by everyone in town, and their intentions in getting the pearl. Kino loses everything.
