Essay #1 Final Draft

Dear Mrs. Johnson, Hello, I am your daughter, Sabra's, English teacher. I wanted to take the time to enlighten you about her class room behavior and how disrespectful she can get towards me. Don't get me wrong, Sabra is not always discourteous. She has her days where she can be a model student in class and in others she can be my worst nightmare. For the last couple of weeks, Sabra has been coming to class to sleep. When I address her to wake up, she would give me an attitude or curse at me. She says marching band is the blame for her sleeping in class. If marching band is getting in the way of her education, I believe she should reconsider her choice about being in the band. I have informed you in the past about her poor grade in my class. It's as if she doesn't try to attempt and make an effort to do the material I present to the class. I would appreciate it if you have a talk with your daughter about her classroom etiquette and how to appreciate teaching staff on a day to day basis. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my letter and take into consideration the concerns I have with your daughter. Sincerely, Mrs. Muller

Dear Mrs. Muller, Hello, I am Mrs. Johnson, Sabra Johnson's mother; I wanted to reply to the letter you sent me a couple of days ago. I am sorry about my daughter cursing you out in class these last couple of weeks. I guarantee you that I had a long discussion with her about her behavior and you shouldn't have any issues with her. As for marching band, my daughter will not be resigning her position as Co-Captain and member of the Marching Blue Devils. Sabra has put in too much hard work and time to quit the color guard now.

Our last observation this semester was with Rachel Pollard at Hartwood Elementary School. This school includes grades K-5. Mrs. Pollard is in a very unique situation, because she sees each of her classes for forty minutes twice a week. Since she has twice as much time with her students as compared to most other music teachers, her students are able to advance quickly with their musical skills. This benefit was very obvious through my observations. Mrs. Pollard’s lessons were well thought-out and she had clear objectives in mind for each activity. Everything she did served a purpose, including singing a song to move the students into a new seating arrangement and her “point checks” at the beginning of class.…

I would like to bring to your attention the role Lexi Amada played during our trip to Canada. Your student displayed an alarming lack of leadership and responsibility throughout the trip's entirety. Not once did she create any line of communication between herself and the group, or acknowledge any questions or concerns. She hid in her seat and let Kyra and her mother, Kathy, take control of the bus situation, in addition to dodging any other problems that inevitably arose. I would like to acknowledge Kyra for taking charge and pulling the trip back together, Program Board is lucky to have her.…

“Perhaps they will be lucky. It may be that events, as they turn out in the next 10 or 20 years, will be common to all the countries; there will be no shocks, no economic developments that affect the different parts of the Euro area asymmetrically. In that case, they’ll get along fine.…

Elders in a family often tell youngsters stories of their past. Moreover, Steven Zeitlin, Amy Kotkin, and Holly Cutting Baker, assert in “Family Stories” that “Family stories are usually based on real incidents which become embellished over the years” (10). These stories tend to change as people age and experience various situations. Canfield’s short story “Sex Education” depicts Aunt Minnie, a woman who faced a traumatic sexual experience as a teenager, telling her story to an audience of younger generations at three different stages of her life; each account is told in a different manner as she experiences various situations that involve sexuality, namely experiences with her son Jake. Through the plot’s development of Aunt Minnie differently telling a terrifying experience thrice as time passes, and characterizing her differently, from immature to serene, as she goes through life, Canfield conveys the theme that time and experience may change one’s story.…

We are parents and we are writing to inform you of a problem with AP US History 11 class. We know that you are aware that there is a problem in this class because met with you on Friday about the problem. He is not the only one that has a problem with her. We know that other people have complained about her also. Since school has started has come home and told us things that would happen in her class. We would say maybe she is just having a bad day. We tried to give her a chance because we knew that she was new to this class. We know that this is an AP class so the students in this class are the ones that care about their grades. We have read email to you and we agree with him. Changes need to be made in her class. is all about an easy class but this class has no pattern. They never know what she is going to do next. She may give them a test on something they have not even studied. They do not even have text books to use. Isn't there some kind of curriculum for an AP US History class? They will be taking the AP exam at the end of the year and she has not taught them anything that will help them with that exam. All we as parents hear is that it is good for our kids to take an AP class because if they are able to pass the AP exam at the end of the year then they will receive college credit for that class. Does it not seem like there would at least be some kind of text books the students would need? When she gives them homework she just tells them to Google it or find out the answer from a class mate. Now how would anyone know the answers because it is obvious she is not teaching them? She also calls them retarded and we do not appreciate that. When came home and told us about her pre writing the whole class up that was the last straw. Also was assigned to be the teacher that day. She did not even give him any material to teach with. I guess since she doesn’t use any material to teach with she thinks the students don’t need…

“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” Although leaders and innovators might propose or institute change, they are not the ones who make it actually happen. It’s the people they lead and influence that actually make change happen. We work as teams to create policies and laws that are in the general public’s best interest, so why not work as a unit to rid the world of health disparities and inequalities. There are over 7 billion individuals in the world today, so it doesn’t make sense to focus on one individual at a time. It would be more productive and beneficial to focus on a group, community, or environment. Individual awareness and behavior are important, but if the goal is to initiate a positive change in the field of health behavior, the focus has to be on creating healthy supportive environments.…

I replied that I was uncomfortable with the approach because Matthew adores his teacher and it was not my intention to ruin the relationship over homework which he has always found difficult. I decided to speak to Matthew's teacher, Mr. Washerman, after the meeting while waiting to pick up the children from school. I explained that I was an instructional assistant who worked with children who had behavior difficulties and had found some successful strategies for doing less than desirable work. He agreed that I can modify homework as I see fit as long as Matthew is practicing his vocabulary and math. I must admit it was a pleasure meeting him and I am great full for his understanding. However, I found Mrs. Plack's aforementioned conduct during this meeting out of line and her lack of preparedness a bad reflection on the special education department within Marlbrough elementary school. Consequently, this is not how I wished to start the 2016-2017 school year, but I feel if not addressed immediately that this conduct would continue throughout the school year. Ultimately I believe this would lead to Matthew's education becoming negatively impacted due to the unscrupulous behavior and lack of professionalism displayed in this…

http://bcs.bedfordstmartins.com/writersref7e/ In Tim O'Brien's Vietnam novel The Things They Carried, the main character is named Tim O'Brien, but the author claims that the work is fictional. In Tim O'Brien's Vietnam novel The Things They Carried, in which the main character is also named Tim O'Brien, the author deliberately blurs the line between autobiography and fiction. In Vanity Fair, William Makepeace Thackeray presents readers with a heroine whose ambition and disregard for the morals of the nineteenth century make her seem more like a woman of our time than of her own. In Thackeray’s nineteenth-century novel Vanity Fair, Becky Sharp is an impoverished young woman who plots deviously to get money and status in her society.…

Have you given the tutoring pass for this week? I asked Nicole, but she said she had not gotten any. Although I have explained to Nicole that is her responsibility to remind you about the passes, she has had many problems at the school in the last couple of months due to miss up of the attention deficit medication. Today, we are taking her to see the doctor to discuss the issue, but I wanted you to know that the medication is critical for her to be successful at school. In the past, I did not want to recognize that any problem with the prescription could have a profound impact on her behavior and her ability to absorb any information provided to her. However, time has demonstrated to me that she needs this type of help very much. Consequently,…

When I was approached by my principal, Mr. Jones, I was shocked, embarrassed, and upset. Shocked, that they had actually read as well as they did, but knew that they both could. Their fluency scores were certainly not high, in comparison to many other second graders, but higher for them. Embarrassed, that my principal was put in a position to confront me about my approach to helping my daughters. He, being a father of three also, understands the frustrations, expectations, and responsibility we put upon ourselves as parents. He also knew about all of my ongoing frustrations and concerns my husband and I have dealt with in trying to best meet our daughter’s learning needs at Trail Wind. As my boss, a professional, and colleague, he was…
