The most important teamwork and volunteering activity.
As it was planned, the main responsibility of our volunteering team was to monitor and scrutinize the community election voting. The voters, who were beautiful ladies, white-haired citizens and even patients in chair, successively came for voting, but their expressions looked like serious and full of tension. So the site atmosphere was not relaxed. In order to activate the atmosphere, I came up with one good idea. I immediately called up our Chinese mini band to play music at the entrance of community. With the nice music, continuous voters came for vote for their own candidates. They smiled and waved hands to us. The site atmosphere became relaxed and active. I was so much proud of my creative ideas. Thereafter the election voting went for counting stage. I decided my team into two groups. We separately counted the votes, then we exchanged and counted again the same. Finally we came for the the same results. What we did ensured the election went smoothly and no mistakes happened. one unforgettable experience.
In the summer holiday of 2012, my mum and me went for a travel and sight seeing in Yunnan Province, China, where is located in Southwest of China, and famous for its beautiful sceneries, jewels and precious stones. The local tour guide took us to visit one old mine in morning, and in afternoon lead us to go shopping in near shops. In one shop, the salesgirl introduced a very pretty diamond to mom at low price. She told mum many beautiful words, which attracted mom very much. Finally mom bought it. As my papa is a geologist, I remembered he told that diamonds were rare and costly.
I was worried mom would be cheated by the salesgirl. I took some photos for this diamond by mobile and sent to papa to identify it was fake or not. Papa replied this diamond was fake. So we requested to cancel this order and returned the diamond to them. No matter how much beautiful words the salesgirl told, we insisted our

Behind the beautiful steely blue Hope Diamond lies a cruel and often bloody history, a history that is full of mystery and intriguing stories. This ornate diamond has changed hands many times throughout its long past. The most interesting part of this is the fact that it is said that many of its owners have met with a gruesome fate. It is because of this occurrence that there is an alleged curse behind the precious gem, whether true or not. As stated by Richard Kurin, “[the curse] is only one small piece of a long and lustrous story…” (Kurin). From its supposed origins in an ancient Indian statue, through the hands of Royalty, and on to the ultra-rich, the Hope Diamond leaves a fascinating yet often brutal mark on many of those in its path.…

Diamonds are seen everywhere in stores and they are displayed in necklaces, earrings, pins and rings. They sparkle brilliantly in the right light. More than likely, most people don’t know how that diamond made it to the store. That diamond will be bought and worn by the lucky recipient. They don’t realize that sparkling diamond or “stone” has gone through extreme heat and pressure, as well as survived a violent ride to the earth’s surface.…

Within the museum you’re exposed to over 30,000 artifacts and several exhibitions that were primarily set out for individual pieces of African American history. It made me feel like I was taking a closer encounter with history and the importance of the African American culture and life. Every exhibition had its own feel to it, and its own relevance, with each display and individual storyline, made it all the more very special. I think with every exhibition, the intention was to make people feel like they were truly once a part of that time and age. Although, it’s difficult to imagine any more of what lies in the roots of African American history and life, I…

Last fall I started my Full-time MBA program. I was assigned to a group of five members, including myself. As part of our orientation, our first exercise was to take on a ropes course as a group. This exercise helped us to know more about each other and become more cohesive as we were unfamiliar with each other and meeting for the first time. We came from different backgrounds, different cultures, and different countries, but we shared similar goals. We had members that worked in operations, marketing, finance, and supply chain; some of us never worked in teams, so it was important for us to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses and address each.…

I have learned a lot of things from participating basketball. It has changed my entire outlook on and attitude toward life. Before my 7th grade year, I was shy, and didn’t have many friends. Basketball has virtually completely changed all of these qualities. On the first day of practice, the team warmed up with a scrimmage game. The players were split up and the game began. However, during the game, I noticed that I didn't run as hard as I could, nor did I try to get open. I realized I really did not want to be thrown the ball. I didn't want to be the one blamed if I dropped the ball and the play didn't work or the shot wasn’t made. I did not want the responsibility of helping the team because I was too afraid of making a mistake. That part of me controlled my whole basketball season that year. I stopped myself from asking questions in class, afraid that I might be considered too stupid or dumb by my classmates. Every day, I went to practice and everyday, I went home physically and mentally exhausted.…
