Indonesia and Malaysia
Indonesia and Malaysia are two countries that located in the same geographical area which is Asia Pacific. This two countries also become the member of ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nation). Because of them are neighboring, they are share some similar and differences between them. The first difference between Indonesia and Malaysia is the geographical area. Indonesia has 1,904,569 km² with Jakarta become the capital city of them. Indonesia is an archipelago country; this country has 5 big islands which are Sumatera, Jawa, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua. In the other hand, Malaysia has smaller area than Indonesia; Malaysia just has 329,847 km² with Kuala Lumpur become the capital city. Malaysia has two big islands, first the island is Kalimantan that share with some area in Indonesia and the other is Asian continental that shares with the other countries like Thailand, Vietnam and Lao. However both them share a tropical climate. Another difference between Indonesia and Malaysia is the form of government. Indonesia using unitary presidential constitutional republic with Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono become their president. In Indonesia the president served as head of state also state of government while Malaysia using federal constitutional elective monarchy and federal parliamentary democracy. Malaysia’s King is Abdul Halim becomes the head of state and prime minister is Najib Tun Razak becomes Malaysia’s head of government. However, bot of them are democratic countries. In Malaysia has nine sultan and the king is will be choose among that nine while in Indonesia every five years will be held the election for the president. In spite of those differences they also share some similarities between them.
