In the story The tragedy of Julius Caesar written by William Shakespeare the character Brutus has done many things to make his death come closer than he knows. Not knowing what his effects do he doesn't see the cause of it happening.
The First Cause that leads to his end is the fact that he decided to join a group of conspirators believing that the note he has found was from one of the towns people asking for him to help get rid of Caesar. As he meets the other conspirators with Cassius about how they will kill Caesar he states in his speech that” They will be sacrificers not butchers. That they will kill him boldly not wrathfully.(page 564.) And because he confirmed that he will be helping them kill Caesar he is setting up his own future. Brutus knew that he would pay for what he had done and that he may have made the wrong choice of letting antony live.
The second cause he had done is that when Octavius and Mark antony had challenged Brutus and Cassius. They both decided to fight them knowing that they will possibly lose against them. As he handed Strato his sword he states( I prithee, Strato, stay thou by thy lord. Thou art a fellow of a good respect; Thy life hath had some smatch of honor in it Hold then my sword. And turn away thy face, While I do run upon it. Wilt thou, Strato? And as he runs on his sword he says Caesar, now be still, I kill’d not thee with half so good a will. (page 632.)
