Changes Amongst us Caused by Cell Phones

Is it possible cell phones within technology have changed us socially, morally and physically? The invention of the first mobile phone has been around since the early 1980’s but before that what did civilization do? It might be difficult for most to believe, but back in the early 1800s people would keep in contact with others by simply writing letters or traveling by foot or horse. There was no television, computers, tablets, or communication created by technology. I will begin with providing a little background information on the first man made mobile phone. The first mobile cell phone manufactured by Motorola was designed and created by a man named Martin Cooper in 1983. Although the phone itself only offered 30 minutes of actual talk time per day you can imagine the excitement overcome by society. Despite how excited people were, you had to be considerably wealthy and able to purchase one since the phone itself was first put on the market for 3,995 dollars. When this device was invented making and receiving phone calls from and to almost any location became the platform to new and highly advanced technology. Over the years these phones have increased in several advances, but it wasn’t until the early 90’s Nokia supported the first user friendly SMS text messaging system. As technology and moderation to the device advanced IBM created the first ever “Smart
Phone” in 1997. What this essentially includes is the capability and connectivity of a computer built into the phone. Later down the road in 2007 Apple offered this combined feature including the ability to interact with a large touch screen. Once these advances were in place from that day forward society was hooked. Having these advances only grew further by not only having a computer built into the system, a camera and video recorder added, but then within the “App Store” apps were available to purchase. Slowly but surely we as a society began to evolve ourselves through cell phone devices. Has this become a problem? As so many have suggested have we lost touch with face to face personal interaction? Many studies have concluded this is definitely the case, especially in our era.
I will continue the rest of my studies as we proceed further into our research papers.

After a twelve-hour work day, rushing home to the kids and to cook supper, is there ever any time to exercise? The benefits of exercise strongly outweigh the reasons to sit on the couch and eat potato chips. Most of our population is not only obese but out of shape. If a person is five feet four inches and two hundred pounds does not mean they are out of shape. They may not be in their average suggested weight, but if their muscle percentage is more than their fat, then they are above most of the population. Muscle weighs more than fat, so gaining muscle means gaining healthy weight. Exercise is addicting and fun, once you see the results, it is hard to stop. Even though we have such busy lives, finding time to make ourselves healthy is important.…

English 1020 was a challenge to me because I only like writing about topics of my choosing. I love to write about different topics, but literature expands more than our personal opinion. I say it was challenging because I was required to write about subjects that I really wasn’t interested in writing about. Writing papers can be challenging, exciting, and interesting at the time. English has always been my strong point, but English 1020 didn’t go as well as I had planned. I could have done better with more preparation. I approached English with the mindset that it would be easy.…

A big jump over 30 years later a man by the name of Steve Jobs was the man who created the Iphone. The most impressive discovery to me by far, they went from a block that weighted over 4 pounds to a cell phone that weighs 4.8 ounces. Apple went to the limit to add a camera, video camera and even a music player. The first Cell Phone to the Newer Phones went from touching rubber buttons that sometimes broke off to a touch screen. The first cellphone was demonstrated in 1973 by a Motorola employee. This cellphone was quite big and only designed for one purpose: to call someone. In the nineties, cellphones became popular with a larger crowd and manufacturers slowly started to add more functions to cellphones: multicolored screens instead of the traditional green/black; short-message-service and a few years later multimedia-message-service. In the…
