Emotion and Art Emotion is classified to be the mental connection between a distinct individual and reality. It gives people a sense of awareness as well as detachment from the things they are surrounded by. Through the series of artistic capabilities, artists have managed to get solid ideas across because of the emotion they have built up inside. The study of art gives artists the opportunity to release emotion through the expression of color and creativity. In common theory, art is viewed and judged in the eyes of the beholder and everyone is entitled to their own opinions. These viewpoints can be influenced by past experiences which can truly trigger a person’s state of mind. The passion that art uplifts transforms the overall perception and insight that a person can have on life. The nature of art is simply what you make of it and generally serves to be a stress-reliever for certain people. It also gives an artist time to contemplate their own discreet thoughts and develop a mutual understanding for the world around them. The stimulating vibes that color portrays enhance different energies regarding the mental state of emotion. The color red is known to symbolize strength and energy, orange represents confidence and well-being, yellow embodies wisdom and a quest for knowledge, and etc. Incidentally, by surrounding yourself with stimulating and/or soothing colors it can affect your mood because these particular colors absorb and reflect energy. The majority of art nowadays is classified to be abstract and can stimulate a person's well-being. In modern philosophy, a picture is worth a "thousand" words meaning that the visual aspect of art means more than just colors, shapes, and designs. It brings life to society through prevailing measures. A photo captures memories, which is something that words can’t physically do. Due to emotion, our subconscious minds register the energies of color without actually realizing it. Stable feelings promote ease, while bad feelings on the other hand convey the sense of depression, and frustration. Creatively speaking, the creation of art is generated from a personal response given by the emotion as well as the human brain. The soothing temptation of art excites, calms, and relaxes the responsive mind of an artist. Emotions are built up along the mental state of mind and give individuals another reason to be attached to the realms of society. Like they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so this quotation represents an individual’s personal discovery towards the notion of reality. The combination of photography and paintings are the images produced by the colors and shapes. Through scientific research, scientists have proven that emotion is the nexus between the mind and body. Deep emotions has a profound influence on creativity; therefore making us one. The chemicals of emotion are released from the brain and travel throughout the mind and body to exemplify a variety of different sensations. A famous quotation from David Hume perfectly ties in with the role that emotions actually play in the creation of art. “Reason is always and everywhere the slave of passions”. Emotions are classified as being used in order to manufacture bad reasons in order to justify them. In correlation to art, when an artist has a powerful emotional connection to a topic they will gradually develop a self-confirming belief system centered upon biased perception, fallacious reasoning, and emotive language. The most common primary emotions include: happiness, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, as well as disgust. The revival of dark colors such as: black, red, and grey usually depict a gloomy yet shallow mood displayed by the artist. Emotions are physical in nature; therefore corresponding to the reason why they distort perception, reason, and language. Art also ties in with the emotional cause of intuition. It associates with core intuition, meaning that most fundamental intuition comes from life, the universe, and everything else. The nature of art is also related to Subject-specific intuition because artists have to maintain various areas of knowledge (science and ethics) depending on the type of artwork they are deciding to create. The notion of art and emotion are highly dependent upon one another. Without the physical state of emotion, there would be no realistic art alive today. Emotion gives art life and the freedom to express genuine outlooks on society (visually speaking). The language that art speaks is truly defined through emotional life experiences. Positive and negative vibes can be uplifted through artwork and that is why the philosophy of the human mind makes it worth living or even ending. The display of art is purposely designed to portray inner emotions expressed through paintings, sculptures, and etc. Modern and even ancient art both demonstrate strong mental qualities possessed through artistic capabilities.
