Definition Essay: What Defines A Hero
What is a hero? What exactly defines a hero? A hero can be defined in many different ways, they have many different qualities. Heroes are not always fictional characters. Anyone can be a hero whether it's encouraging others and giving them strength during life's difficulties. A hero can be someone who gave up his or her life so another could live. An act of heroism does not always require physical strength. Heroes are all around us, they are just not always recognized. A hero is someone who is looked up to, someone who inspires others by what they do. A hero is anyone who can show courage when faced with a dilemma. A hero is a person who does their best to help others in various ways. I personally believe a hero, courageous, dependable and caring.

A courageous hero is someone who takes risks, they put themselves in danger just to make sure they are doing the right thing. For example according to CBS news Dalton Surbey a 17 year old high school junior was involved in a crash and hit by 2 vehicles he was knocked to the ground but all of a sudden heard a cry for help and immediately rushed to the opposite lane to pull a 73 year old man into a ditch to make sure he was safe. Despite being hit by a truck, Surbey jumped into action. As it states in the article “ Surbey, it was later discovered, had fractured three vertebrae.” He was then called a hero by the man he saved. A hero does not necessarily always do the right thing just for fun or attention they do it because in their heart they know it's the right
