Matthew 27:45-50 recorded that Jesus was on the cross from noon to three o’clock in the afternoon. It was a painful torture to Jesus but he was quiet for most of the time. It was until the last hour he cried out a lord voice saying, “My God, my god why have you forsaken me!” It was a heartfelt moving prayer. This was Jesus’ lament and was a plea. Jesus was under stress and pain. He had an intimacy relationship with the Father for a long time. At this critical moment in life, he was left alone in his humanity to experience the sense of divine abandonment that we often feel during times of need and especially when in sin. He was forsaken by his followers, betrayed and denied by the disciples and now surrounded by people who insulted him. In his cry, Jesus called the Lord “my” God two times in an act of trust and faith. His cry was an appeal addressed to God who seemed so far and seemed to have abandoned him. The cry expressed all the sadness of Jesus who was facing the moment of death.…

Christianity has been interpreted in many ways by different theologians and lay people. As much as this subject is studied there continues to be an ongoing differing of opinions relating to what it means to be created in the image of God. However, even with the differing of opinions, Christian faith is based on the central belief that Jesus is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and that his life on earth, his crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension into heaven are proof of God 's love for humanity. (infoplease.com, 2010). Although Christian beliefs are based on the New Testament, Christianity still views the Old Testament as a very important part of its faith and uses it often in reference and teaching. This paper will first discuss what it means to be created in the image of God as it pertains to my opinion and second how my beliefs on this subject are incorporated into my nursing practice.…

For brothers and sisters in other communities, the mystery of God takes many forms. Observing this, we are not led to deny the centrality of Christ for our faith, but to contemplate more deeply the meaning of St. Paul's affirmation: "Ever since the creation of the world, (God's) eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things [God] has made" (Romans 1:20). Christians disagree on the nature and extent of such "natural revelation" and its relation to salvation. No matter what our view on this may be, we can be open to the insights of those who receive the light which enlightens everyone born into the world (John…

Jesus, the Messiah had just been baptized by John the Baptist. Then the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove descended from Heaven, and God the Father’s voice beamed from Heaven telling the crowd that this was His Son; God was overjoyed with Jesus because of His obedience to the Father (NIV, 1973).This public recognition of the Father in Heaven for His Beloved Son Jesus- demonstrated that Jesus was and is confirmed, as the Holy Messiah. John also spoke of the kingdom and told the people that they must repent in order to be received into the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus went on to perform miracles, while John continued to spread the Word of God through his baptism ministry. There are many illustrations Jesus used, during His Ministry here on earth, to convey the meaning of the Kingdom of God.…
