Concept Analysis: Spiritual Care
A concept is a statement that describes a phenomenon in nature or in thought (McEwen & Wills, 2014). Concepts have a wide variety of definition, it may be concrete or abstract. Concepts lend structure to theory building and is vital to research development of a certain discipline. In the nursing discipline, concepts have been borrowed/shared or derived from other disciplines, from the natural world or from research. Concepts are essential to enhance our practice and to the development of theories.

    Healing hospitals should be the focus of America’s healthcare system instead they are on the decline. The typical hospital focuses on getting the patients in and getting them out as quickly as possible to save money and make a profit. They do not focus on providing a healing environment that is patient and family friendly, unlike healing hospitals.
