Civic Engagement
Community life and civic engagement are a huge responsibility of citizens. Residents of a community have the constant responsibility of making the society around them reflect an advance in the eminence of lives in the community. The simple duty of any citizen is to give to the common good. Civic responsibilities are achieved by volunteering and choice. Volunteering, involving in positive organizations, or tutoring are all ways that people can subsidize to the good of the community. Small deeds that seem to prosper someone in some way or the other is still a way of helping others. These are just some of the norms of childhood, but people must also acknowledge and improve abilities of character that are valued by their kinfolks and by the societies in which they reside. Helping others is one of those huge ideas that continually drags on in the lives of those who choose to remember it. Anyone that has the desire to help people are promoting compassion by having the realization to think about others and what they go through. When people start helping the community they have the opportunity to gain many aspects of lessons in life. Helping others around the community helps kids be aware who is in their surroundings. When people are learning about the anxieties that others have and what other people are going through they start seeing the world more vividly and through a vibrant lens. Compassion can form when people start helping others in the community. When you help others, you can merely just receive a thank you, but the person who has taken the responsibility to help that specific person, needs to learn more form that deed. Hinds honors civics class. As one student started to do this assignment, she found it difficult because she has never encountered this type of assignment before. As the student started to do this and progressed through the assignment she found many unique characteristics about her community and herself. She learned that one person can make a difference on many levels of scales. She found out that even though there might be a small action done, it can form into something that has an emotional impact for others in a powerful and effective way. The effect can diffuse farther than who she is trying to assist. A teen that is working to help others is inevitably motivating to others, and will start a fire in others that can endure for a long time. Teens that start helping others, will have the authority to feel self-confident as they work to help others as they go through their life. The student decided to volunteer at Lakeside Baptist Church. The heads there assigned that she be at the church early in the morning on Saturday to help with the yard sale. Yardsaling, is a topic that most people will question saying, what can you learn from it. Yardsaling taught the girl many valuable lessons. She was able to communicate with the people that came in .This built long lasting face to face links. She was able to talk personally to the people there and understand the emotions that they are facing. Most of the people that came to this
