Action Plan: The best way to start working into reeucing childhood obesity, is to create awarnes of the problem. Parents, schools, communities and the governemnt needs to know the severity of childhood obesity, so creating awarness of the problem will help them see the problem. People might not notice how much of a probleem childhood obesity really since it took many years to become an epedemic. People tend to notice the realseverity of the problem when it happens in a short period of time. Once we are able to create awarnes to the entiire population we should use the social ecological model to help treat and prevent future childhood obesity problems. Firs of all the role of a community it is very important in helping prevent childhood obesity and treating it. If a communty has multiple facilities where the chikdren are able to play and have physical activity it will help them prevent and treat chlidhood obesity. The community not only has to offer them a place but they have to make sure that the childfren are also able to use them, so in this case the city plays a huge rule in city plannig but also in reducing factors that will prevent children form going and play. Violoence is one of the reaasons why kids might not be able to go and play to their local park and the city should help eliminate the vilonce in order to allow the kids to go and play. City plannig is also important because studies have shown that people will attend a park or a hiking trail if its close to them, if they create all of the facilites far from people it will decrease the impact if they were spread apart. Communites should also offer program to help eduacte the parents about childhood obesity and what they can do to prevent it. This is the part organizations will come in play, the community might not have the proper personal to help develop or run the programs so that is why they need to work with private and non-porfit organizations that are experts on the topics. A clear exmaple of an orgaization that is helping with childhood obesity is Lationo Health Acceess, the organization is based on the city of Santa Ana and it is working all over the city. The organization is not part of the city but they do work closely with them, not only do they have professionals working with them but they also have many residents from Santa Ana working with them.
