1-151 FA requests the waiver be approved to allow SSG Meyer to re-class to a 13B. SSG Meyer has been 11B for 14 years. Working AGR for the last three and a half years. Combined he has ten and a half years of active duty time. He has done two deployments. The first deployment was to Kosovo 03-04 where he served as the Platoon Leaders RTO. During his second deployment to Iraq 05-07, he served as a Team Leader/Humvee Gunner. SSG Meyer has completed training exercises at JRTC, JMRC, and most recently completing at rotation at NTC. Another story on an AWOL soldier is when first arriving to Korea a SPC by the name of Jalen Davis, got in trouble for multiple violations such as fighting, drinking on duty, and sexting on a government phone. Davis was demoted to PV1 and received multiple ART 15's as punishment. He was also waiting for chapter paperwork to be approved. The next day after his chapter paperwork is approves starts out processing but never returns. Davis disappeared for two days. Davis was now an AWOL soldier. He went down town to a Korean hooker that he was in love with. Davis was out of money so when he went back the next day the girl called his 1SG to come get him. They locked up his civilian clothing thinking that would stop him for leaving, but he got away again. A military member has violated Article 87 if he/she is ordered to be on a ship or an aircraft, or deploy with a unit on a certain date and time, and then fails to show up. It doesn't matter if the member failed to show up through intention or because of neglect, but it is required that the member knew about the movement. A viable defense would be that the member missed the movement through physical inability (as long as that physical inability wasn't a result of misconduct or neglect). The possible punishment is more severe if the member missed the movement on purpose. My name is Spc Phillip Fuller, I was born July 24th 19** in Jesup, Georgia. I attended Wayne County High School of Jesup, Ga and graduated with a dual-seal diploma in 2009. In September of the same year, I entered the Army’s delayed entry program. I attended MEPS in Jacksonville, Fl January 2010 and received basic training report date of 10 January 2010 to Fort Jackson, South Carolina. I completed and graduated basic training in March 2010, where I received orders to attend advanced initial training at Fort Gordon, Ga. I Graduated AIT on July 2010, it was then I was awarded the primary MOS of multi-transmission system operator/maintainer or 25Q. After AIT I participated in the army’s home town recruiting program, or HRAP for a month. After I completed HRAP I joined 51st signal battalion of the 35th signal brigade at Fort Lewis, Washington on July 2010. I was placed on a battalion command post node team, with whom I conducted numerous support missions and field training exercises. On the sixth day of June of the year 2011, I was deployed to Mazar-e Sharif Afghanistan to join operation enduring freedom. I was placed on FOB Marmal as a night-shift leader to the base’s tier-two helpdesk. I returned from deployment in 2012, and headed back to fort Lewis. There I remained on a CPN team as an alternate team chief. In May 2013 I reenlisted and added three more years onto my army contract. July 2013 I received permanent change of station orders to fort Gordon, Georgia. I diligently joined forces with the 442nd signal battalion and the bravo company JNN platoon. My short term goals are to get promoted and gain my own soldiers. I also strive to do as much civilian education as I can and obtain a degree by the end of my contract. At first glance, in 2005, I was assigned to the United States Army Technical Escort Unit. The unit was undergoing a transformation.
