1.2 Explain The Role Of External Professionals In Education
Sometimes external professionals will be required to come into school to work with the children and staff . Educational psychologist play a vital role in childrenâ€TMs education. It is their role to help children who may be struggling within the education setting. They are usually called in to complete an assessment to see what if any help is needed. They can work with individuals or groups giving advice and relevant training and help with certain referrals .
Speech and language therapist- this profession works as part of a multi diciplinery team along with health professionals ,nurses,doctors,psychologists. They support people across all age ranges from children to adults who have speech and language problems and will liase with schools when needed. Communication difficulties can be physical and social such as autism. Speech and language therapists play a role in helping diagnose communication disorders .

Along with occupational therapy who also work with schools and provide aids if necessary covering a wide range of disabilities to make sure school is inclusive, safe place for students.
Schools also work with the behaviour support team they will come into school and train staff members on appropriate handling and methods to support both staff and pupils who may need behavioural support such as a child who frequently has meltdowns and can be a danger to himself and others , may require physical restraint it is important staff are trained in the correct manner to do so. The behavioural support team will draw up individual behaviour plan IEBâ€TMs again working in partnership with schools and
